UN POPULATION FUND RECEIVES $57 MIL FROM GATES
NEW YORK, Apr 5 (LSN.ca) - The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) announced yesterday a $57 million (US) grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. While the grant is reportedly to fight AIDS among African youth, UNFPA will use the funds for its reproductive health - abortion - agenda as well.
The Foundation is funding a five-year initiative to expand national campaigns in Botswana, Ghana, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania that will educate youth about preventing HIV/AIDS and ensure that they can protect themselves. The government of each country, in partnership with UNFPA, and two United States-based international non-governmental organizations, PATH (Program for Appropriate Technology in Health) and Pathfinder International as well as local groups will implement the programmes. As per UNFPA standards, the program will include graphic sex-education and condom promotion among youth.
"Efforts will vary in each country according to local conditions, but all will include education programmes in both rural and urban areas, peer counselling for young people in and out of school, accessible reproductive health services (provided in youth centres, for example), and job training for disadvantaged youth," says the UNFPA release.
The UNFPA is known for its ruthless disregard for Third World nation's' sovereignty, cultural traditions and religious beliefs in its pursuit of world-wide de-population to protect western interests. Gates' and his Microsoft corporation have just received unusually strong condemnation from judge Thomas Jackson for the company's "predatory" tactics and bullying of competitors to protect its monopoly position. Observers comment it appears that UNFPA and Microsoft are a good fit.
