Abortion Death Revealed - 19-Year-Old Disabled Girl Died at Tiller’s Kansas Clinic
WICHITA, Ks., February 24, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Infamous late-term abortionist George Tiller has been subpoenaed by the State of Texas and the Texas Attorney General regarding the death of a 19-year-old disabled Texas woman who suffered a fatal medical emergency at Tiller’s Kansas abortion clinic – Wichita Women’s Center. Operation Rescue, a pro-life group which has monitored Tiller’s clinic, reports five ambulances in the past 13 months have rushed women from Tiller's abortuary to Wesley Medical Centre in Witchita. At least one woman has now died, and at least one more is suspected to have died.
However, Kansas Attorney General Phil Kline is being obstructed in investigating these and other similar incidents at Kansas abortion clinics. Two abortion clinics in the state are suing Kline in an attempt to halt his investigation.
Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius has asked the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (BOHA) to investigate the death of this 19-year-old. Sebelius has been under fire since the tragedy for her veto of the clinic regulation act in 2003 that would have ensured safety standards at abortion clinics in the state.
In an interview yesterday, Attorney General Kline stated, "I will state that women would be more safe when receiving services at these clinics if the Governor had not vetoed the clinic licensing bill - and it's my hope that the Governor will have a change of heart and support the licensing effort in the future."
Health authorities in Quebec and other Canadian provinces are sending Canadian women seeking late-term abortions to Tiller's abortion mill.
"Late term abortions are especially dangerous for the mother and always deadly for the unborn child," said Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign Life Coalition(CLC). "Even Henry Morgentaler has denounced the practice as 'killing babies'," he continued.
Unsanitary conditions also exist in other Kansas abortuaries. "This is the quality care that the women we send from Quebec and elsewhere receive!" said Mary Ellen Douglas, national Organizer of Campaign Life Coalition. "Abortion by its very nature is a dirty business but the abortuaries run by 'Tiller the Killer' are deadly for everyone."
