Charges Dismissed Against Kentucky Prof Who Vandalised Pro-Life Display

HEIGHTS, Kentucky, June 29, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Criminal charges
have been dismissed against Professor Sally Jacobsen, a former
professor at Northern Kentucky University who destroyed a pro-life
campus display in April.
District Judge Karen Thomas said Jacobsen’s successful completion of a mediation program would stand in lieu of the first-time misdemeanour charges, which included two counts of misdemeanour theft and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, reported the Cincinnati Post.
Jacobsen tore down a pro-life sign and 400 small white crosses, intended to represent a cemetery for aborted babies, which had been displayed by the campus pro-life group Northern Right to Life. The former literature professor encouraged her students to join her in the destruction. Six students were also charged, but were granted diversion of their sentences by Judge Thomas earlier this month, performing community service instead.
Jacobsen was suspended from her teaching position at the University after the vandalism occurred, and has since retired from her post.
