Dr. Alveda King to Release Pro-Life Music Video on Abortion

She has had two abortions and believes she suffered a miscarriage of third baby as result of abortions

By Gudrun Schultz

YORK, Pennsylvania, April 11, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pro-life advocate Dr. Alveda King will release a new music video on Friday April 13, examining the damage wrought by abortion in the African American community.

Entitled “Latter Rain,” the video explores the effects of abortion on black women and families--over the past decades the African American community has seen some of the highest percentage of abortion rates in the country. Abortion causes more deaths of black people than all other deaths combined, according to Day Gardner, president of the National Black Pro-Life Union, in a special LifeSiteNews.com report during Black History Month in February 2007.

A civil rights activist, Dr. King is an outspoken and gifted speaker on pro-life issues. She is a member of the Silent No More Campaign which encourages women who have suffered an abortion to speak out about their experiences.

Dr. King had two abortions, she told University of Florida students at a presentation March 27, and believes she suffered a miscarriage of a third baby as a result of the abortions. Calling abortion “the war on the womb,” Dr. King said, “How can the dream survive if we murder the children? I think we have an obligation to protest this war.”

The niece of the late civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr. King recently authored the book “Sons of Thunder, the King Family Legacy.”

Latter Rain will debut at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Rd, in York, Pennsylvania, at 7:30 p.m. For further information call: 717-755-7503.
